Quick Start Guide

Welcome to TwinEdge! This guide will help you get your first industrial IoT dashboard up and running in just a few minutes.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure you have:

  • A TwinEdge account (Sign up here)
  • At least one data source (OPC UA server, Modbus device, or MQTT broker)
  • A modern web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge)

Step 1: Create Your Organization

  1. Log in to app.twinedgeai.com
  2. Click Create Organization
  3. Enter your organization name and industry
  4. Select your subscription tier (free trial available)

Step 2: Add a Data Source

Connect your first industrial device or simulator:

Option A: Use the Demo Simulator

Perfect for testing without real hardware:

  1. Go to Data SourcesAdd Data Source
  2. Select OPC UA Simulator
  3. Click Connect - a demo pump with vibration sensors will be created

Option B: Connect Real OPC UA Server

  1. Go to Data SourcesAdd Data Source
  2. Select OPC UA
  3. Enter your OPC UA server URL (e.g., opc.tcp://192.168.1.100:4840)
  4. Configure authentication if required
  5. Click Test Connection then Save

Step 3: Browse and Select Tags

  1. After connecting, click Browse Tags
  2. Navigate the OPC UA namespace tree
  3. Check the tags you want to monitor
  4. Click Add Selected Tags

Common tags for pump monitoring:

  • Vibration_X, Vibration_Y, Vibration_Z
  • Motor_Temperature
  • Flow_Rate
  • Discharge_Pressure

Step 4: Create Your First Dashboard

  1. Go to DashboardsCreate Dashboard
  2. Enter a name (e.g., "Pump Overview")
  3. Add widgets:
    • Line Chart: For vibration trends
    • Gauge: For temperature
    • KPI Card: For current values
  4. Drag and resize widgets as needed
  5. Click Save

Step 5: Set Up an Alert (Optional)

  1. Go to AlertsCreate Alert
  2. Select a data source tag (e.g., Motor_Temperature)
  3. Set condition: Greater than 80°C
  4. Choose notification channels (Email, Slack, SMS)
  5. Click Create Alert
